STRENGTH Specific for Runners
Prevent and Reduce Injury: With every foot strike, the body must respond to a force production of 6-8 times a persons body weight. This repeated force can cause injury if not properly prepared. Strength training provides your tissue (i.e. muscles, tendons , ligaments) with the needed load to build tolerance to the force production that running demands.
Increase Performance: Strengthening the key components of the gait cycle has been shown to increase your speed and efficiency.
